Apps for X is a native macOS desktop application that provides a convenient multi-account wrapper for X (Twitter). 1. Information We Collect
Apps for X is designed with privacy-first principles. We collect no personal information whatsoever.
- We do not collect your name, email, or contact details
- We do not collect X (Twitter) login credentials
- We do not read, store, or transmit your messages or posts
- We do not collect device identifiers or IP addresses
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry services
- We do not track your activity inside the app
How X authentication works: When you sign into X within the app, your credentials are entered directly into X's official website (x.com) loaded inside a secure browser view. Apps for X never sees or intercepts your password.
2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Apps for X stores the following data exclusively on your Mac, never on remote servers:
- Account labels and workspace names you create inside the app
- App preferences (theme, sidebar state, notifications toggle)
- Browser session cookies managed by macOS's built-in WKWebView / Electron session — identical to a standard browser
All local data can be deleted at any time by removing the app from your Mac (via Finder → Applications → Move to Trash).
3. AI-Powered Features
Apps for X includes optional AI tools: AI Reply Assistant, AI Thread Generator, and AI Tweet Optimizer. These features are powered by OpenAI's API.
When you use an AI feature, the text you enter (e.g. a tweet to optimize or a topic for a thread) is sent to OpenAI's servers to generate a response. Please review OpenAI's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle API data.
- AI features are opt-in — you must actively click a button to use them
- No AI requests are made automatically or in the background
- We do not store or log the text you send to AI features
4. Third-Party Services
Apps for X embeds the official X (Twitter) website. All interactions with X — including login, posts, and messages — are governed by X's own privacy policy and terms of service:

5. App Permissions & Entitlements
Apps for X requests only the minimum permissions required to function:
- Network access — to load x.com in the browser view
- User-selected file access — only when you explicitly choose to download a file or image from X
Apps for X does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, photos library, or any other sensitive system resource.
6. Children's Privacy
Apps for X is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app requires a valid X (Twitter) account, which itself requires users to be at least 13 years of age.
